After 43 remarkable years of serving East Texas, Dr. Charles L. Heaton, founder of Heaton Eye Associates, has announced his retirement from the practice of ophthalmology, effective December 18, 2026.
For more than four decades, Dr. Heaton has dedicated his career to caring for the vision of our community. What began as a commitment to providing exceptional eye care grew into a legacy that has touched generations of patients and families throughout East Texas.
Since founding Heaton Eye Associates, Dr. Heaton has helped shape the practice into what it is today. His commitment to his patients, his faith, and the standard of care he established have influenced countless team members and physicians and will continue to be part of Heaton Eye Associates for years to come.
We are incredibly grateful for Dr. Heaton’s 43 years of leadership, compassion and unwavering dedication to his patients. We thank him for the countless lives he has touched, the relationships he has built, and the legacy he has created throughout East Texas.
