I love the techs and the doctors. I wish they would hand me my prescription for glasses, not send it to the optician I live 21/2 hours away, it was 3 oclock when I was finished. I went to the optical for my prescription and there was only one lady working. She was with a client, with two others waiting. She told me she would be with me after she took care of the others and we all know how long that can take. I told her I only needed to pick up my prescription and she never acknowledged my comment. I left without my prescription.
We loved everything about the visit the doctor was really nice and the nurses were really nice too and they answered all our questions that we asked and did their job really well.
The Doctors at Heaton saved my vision:I woke up one morning with either a headache or eye-ache, the pain was unrelenting. I called Heaton Eye Associates and asked for as early an appointment as I could get, that I needed help badly - they got me in at 9:15 am. In the middle of his exam, Dr. Mathew Marshall quickly notified their glaucoma specialist, Dr. Adam Dossey, relating that I was having a serious glaucoma crisis (with pressures over 70 mm Hg). Dr. Dossey was quick to attend and confirmed the diagnosis. That was the beginning of a seven-hour office visit with Dr. Dossey, during which he performed four surgical interventions to save my vision and relieve the pressure from this silent disease. He ultimately saved my gift of sight. He never gave up.I am truly grateful that we have these gifted professionals in our community. Believe me, you are in very good hands with the doctors here. The teamwork between the doctors and staff is exceptional. A special thanks also to Dr. Dossey's assistant Kortne, whose caring and kind demeanor was appreciated.Sincerely,Max E. Dow, DVM, MPH
I was recommended by my work colleagues to go to Heaton Eye Associates for LASIK. My surgeon was Dr. Muirhead. The process is pretty simple! You go in for an eye dilation appointment so that they can get measurements of your eyes and make sure theyre fit for surgery. I took a photo of what my eyes looked like super dilated. It was so weird and cool! Then you go in for your LASIK appointment a week to a few weeks later. You have to bring a driver and your method of payment. I was given Ativan and some water to relax and get comfortable before the surgery. They sat me in a very comfortable LazyBoy chair that had head and massage while I waited them to prep. Once ready, I was walked into the surgery room and lied down underneath the machine. Dr. Muirhead talked me through every step of what he was doing and what I should expect. It was not painful or uncomfortable in the slightest. The best way I can explain it is it all looked like alien spaceship lights! So many fuzzy colors floating around. They do one eye at a time. The process takes about 5-10 minutes per eye and then they give you some sunglasses to wear, because trust me, light will end up hurting quite a bit on the ride home. It feels like stinging and you cannot wipe your eyes. I highly suggest bringing something darker to cover your face while youre being driven home. The light sensitivity gets pretty intense. As soon as I got home, I put on my safety goggles provided to me and went to sleep immediately. That certainly helped. Everyone at Heaton Eye Associates are friendly, kind, professional and very informative. I am so glad I decided to get LASIK. I have worn glasses since I was in elementary school and contacts since I was 16. Being 30 years old now, its actually really lovely to be able to see glasses and contacts free! Also, on my follow-up appointment the day after my surgery, I ended up winning Patient of the Week! They took a picture of me with my surgeon, and gave me a letter and gift card. Happy Valentines Day to me! LOVE this place. Definitely recommend!
